"An established principle of learning and memory is called consolidation. Consolidation is a process by which over time a memory will solidify until it becomes permanent. The term itself refers to the fact that the memory is brought together (consolidated) into a clear and organized whole."
"Research has actually been done to find out which drugs will promote quick, solid consolidation and which drugs tend to block consolidation."
Your Assignment:
1.) Read "Testing Your Memory" on pages 240 and 241. (You do not need to do the experiment)
2.) If these drugs were proved to be safe, what practical applications would each of these drugs have?
3.) In other words, when would you want quick consolidation, and when would you want to block consolidation? Explain.
