Classical conditioning deals with association that are made between a natural stimulus and a learned, neutral stimulus. On the other side is Operant conditioning. Operant conditioning results from one's actions and the consequences they cause. Many times this conditioning is a result of reinforcements, both positive and negative.
Your Assignment:
1.) Define both negative and positive reinforcements.
2.) Come up with real life examples, (preferably school or extra-curricular activities, but could be outside of school) that show negative and positive reinforcements.

1.Positive reinforcement is when you do something good and are rewarded with something good or "positive".

2. An example of positive reinforcement is when you put in the man hours to work hard in school, you are rewarded with a "Good Job!". An example of negative reinforcement is when you get in trouble at school and are sent to Mrs. Brown/Mr. Osmand for disciplining.

1) Negative Reinforcement is a response or behavior is strengthened by stopping, removing, or avoiding a negative outcome. Positive Reinforcement is when a favorable outcome, event, or reward occurs after an action,and that particular response or behavior is strengthened.

ReplyDelete2) When I think of real life examples for negative and positive reinforcement, my mind goes back to 7th grade math. If we studied hard and paid attention in class, we got praised for it. At the same time, if we screwed around or zoned off, Mr. Ellis would bring us back by calling us out on it and teasing us. " Who are you on the island with?" he would say. Yes it was funny, but it was just embarrassing enough to remind us to stay focused during his class.
